This is part of
an ongoing effort to control soil erosion in the region through the construction of ridges
and tree/grass planting. Also known as the Soil Conservation and Agroforestry Project
Arusha (SCAPA), this effort started in the early 1980s. In the hill regions of the Ngorbob
village, ridges have already been constructed and trees have also been planted. In the
lowland areas, unfortunately, little has been accomplished to date largely due to
financial constraints.
Nature of EPF support: Project promotion through print
and electronic sources.
